Dezeen Showroom:<\/a><\/strong> forms and shapes distilled from pylons, signals and beacons make up this lighting<\/a> collection created by French duo Marie & Alexandre and produced by design brand Petite Friture<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Marie & Alexandre<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 the studio of Marie Cornil and Alexandre Willaume \u2013 first presented the Pyl lighting<\/a> in their solo exhibition Horizon at Galerie Sign\u00e9 in 2022, where it was discovered by Petite Friture<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Pyl lighting collection features refined but fun shapes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The restrained yet fun collection features floor, pendant, wall and ceiling lights, all made up of slender cylinders and jaunty cone shapes.<\/p>\n

The compositions have been fine-tuned for functionality and harmony, and the steel bodies are finished in combinations of bright yellow, chilli red, white, black and raw steel \u2013 a palette chosen to reference 20th-century Italian design.<\/p>\n

The lighting is made of polished or painted steel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

“The PYL collection is a testament to the creative vision of Marie & Alexandre, a journey they embarked on from the very start of their collaboration,” said Petite Friture.<\/p>\n

“Together, they have fostered a distinctive language expressed through collections of one-of-a-kind pieces.”<\/p>\n

The Pyl lighting collection is made with built-in replaceable LEDs, providing both short-term practicality and long-term sustainability.<\/p>\n
